Technology is continually changing and as such EE Technologies, Inc. (EET) continues to invest in order to provide the best possible services for its customers. As real estate on printed circuit assemblies becomes more critical for effective product design for many companies (automotive, medical, consumer, and other industries), smaller product marking capabilities that allow product identification and tracking are essential. Our newly purchased, Identco CAB6 enables EET to provide tracking using an ECC 200 2 dimensional label matrix identification system, which replaces traditional single dimensional bar code technology. Recently, EET implemented technologies allowing the use of a 4.5mm X 4.5mm label for an automotive application, and this label provided all of the detail tracking required (a label this size can hold 24 numeric or 16 alpha-numeric characters). EET has the capability to place the labels automatically during the SMT process thereby eliminating human operator defects and increasing production efficiencies. These technologies allow for the demanding component level traceability required by either industry standards or customer preference.
